Chimmy Chummy Vietnamese Restaurant Made My Day

As I continue to venture food places in Johor Bahru, a friend suggested me to try this Chimmy Chummy Vietnamese Restaurant at Taman Pelangi in Johor Bahru (Town Area) to be part of my #JomtaraletsSupportLocal Campaign stories.

Chimmy Chummy Restaurant is just nearby to Johor Bahru City Center. It is approximately less than 5 KM distance away from the town area. This restaurant is one of the few Vietnamese restaurants in Johor serving halal food.

Jom with me as I uncover their authentic Vietnamese dishes here.

THE AMBIANCE

The restaurant is quiet during day time from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. They have both open-air and close door set-up as the restaurant expanded its territory and added tables at their entrance area.

Parking would be a bit of a hassle especially during lunchtime (12:00 PM -2:00PM) and from 6:00 PM to 8 PM.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

In terms of customer service, their food preparation will take about 15 - 20 minutes depends on how busy they are. If they are full, then you may need to wait to about 30 minutes. The waiting time is the only issue that they need to improve on.

Aside from speaking Vietnamese language, their team can speak basic English and Bahasa too.

THE FOOD

We ordered their Vietnamese mini pancakes, fresh spring rolls, beef rice, Vietnamese coffee, Vietnamese tea, Pho Vietnamese Chicken Noodle- Kuey Teow and Bihun, and Vietnamese beef rice.

I think their food showcases a genuine taste of Vietnamese meals. I love it and it's really authentic. The way they served the meal was superb. It was tasty and the smell of the lemongrass and cinnamon was so strong. I considered their beef rice as a power full lunch. It comes with soup and quite a lot of beef (the meat). The price is reasonable according to its portion.

I love their Pho Vietnamese Chicken Noodle- Kuey Teow and Bihun too. There is always an aftertaste on that soup.  It's really nice to just sit down and enjoy that soup. The Pho soup broth is light however it was full of flavor. It is rich with those spices like cinnamon and other vegetables, shrimp paste, and fish sauce—woahhhh—you will enjoy it.

Their fresh spring rolls are also awesome. It is soft and the rice wrapper is not that smelly. It is really nice to eat it like that with shrimps inside, vegetables, and mixed with their sweetish chilly sauce. My tastebuds are enjoying the food.

Their Vietnamese mini pancakes were really cute when it was served to us. It comes with a small yellow pancake which can consider as a bite-size. There is a bit of crispy and soft texture with a shrimp on top that gives a unique taste to my palate. It's really nice to try.

Ultimately, as a finisher, you can always have Vietnamese tea. This is no sugar content so it's just plain tea. If you are a coffee lover, then you would definitely enjoy sipping their strong Vietnamese coffee.

I can say that this meal really made my day.
