Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel Showcases Mouth-Watering Dishes For Ramadan Buffet 2021


As Ramadan season is coming soon, more and more F&B players are promoting their buffet packages for this auspicious month. Let me share with you the packages of Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel for this upcoming Holy Month-- you might be interested.

Café Bld will be showcasing 400 delightful blends of traditional dishes with a touch of Malaysian and other international cuisines that will make the whole season exciting for everyone.


With the help of their Executive Chef Frederick Kho, I am able to understand more about their different dishes inspired by different specialties from traditional Malaysian to Asian cuisines including other western hot dishes.

The dinner starters will be showcasing an aromatic local festive salad. It includes Sotong Kerabu (Malay-style spicy salad), Kerabu Paru (Malay-style Beef Lung Salad), Kerabu Beraneka Laut (Malay-Style mixed seafood salad), and many more.


Their 400 sumptuous dishes cover all from their appetizers with a touch of their “Ulam Ulam Kampong" or local green leave salads, boiled and baked rice featuring their traditional "Ketupat Palas"—a steamed fragrant glutinous rice wrapped in pine leaf, Asian Crackers  or commonly known as ‘Pilihan Keropok, Dimsum Fried section with 3 types to be featured on a daily basis.


One will also be delighted with their Middle East selection where it highlights their Fattoush Salad (Bread and Green Lettuce salad), Hummus (Chickpeas and Tahini Salad) Baba Ghanoush (Roasted Eggplant Tomato salad) or Mutabbal (roasted Lemony Eggplant Salad, Tabbouleh (Semolina and Lettuce Salad), and Tzatziki (Green-style Cucumber Yoghurt Salad).


Guests can also experience their Japanese cuisine that includes sushi rolls, salmon and tuna in smoked and sashimi form.  The hotel will also showcase their crowd most favorite seafood-on-ice section which offers a mouth-watering morsel like clams, scallops, flower crabs, New Zealand blue mussels including green lip mussels.

If you are looking for a western type of dishes, then you will not be disappointed as they have their Mediterranean Seafood Rice, Spaghetti Bolognese, Grated Parmigiana, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Baked Spinach Cheese Oyster, and many more.


Indian dishes are also on the list with their Crispy Fried Chicken 65, Vegetable Pakora, Paneer Pakora, and Chicken Tikka Masala. All are stunningly beautiful in my tastebuds.  In terms of their main dishes, they will be showcasing their Palak Paneer, Dal Makhani, Vegetable Masala, Dhal Curry, Rogan Josh, Mutton Curry, Muttu Fish Curry, Jeera Rice, Murtabak, and Puri Station. All were absolutely good to try out.


If you are looking for traditional street food, then you will not be disappointed. They serve their Permas Satay in beef, chicken, and lamb with their traditional condiments. You can also try their fresh seafood selection of stingray, squids, seasonal local fishes, wok-fried sweet clams, wok-fried crabs, wok-fried tender beef, and many more.


Meanwhile, you will be satisfied with their signature Chef Hamizi  Biryani as it highlights a whole Lamb Barbeque Pit, Lamb Ribs Biryani Gam with traditional condiments, Garlic Yogurts Sauces, Tangy Chickpeas Spread and Cucumber Raita.

Of course, Asian cuisines are also in. You will enjoy their Lamb Rendang. It is a lamb traditionally cooked in rendang paste. They also have their Malay-style sweet and sour chicken also known as Ayam Masak Madu, Prawn cooked in Spicy Turmeric Coconut Milk known as “Udang Masak Lemak Chili Api and many more.


Other delights like Ayam Masak Palembang also known as jawa style chicken cooked in soy sauce, Ayam Masak Tiga Rasa (known as another type of Malay style for sweet and sour chicken), Daging Masak Kunyit (a crispy fried beef with turmeric) and Pajeri Nenas (spices Pineapples in coconut Gravy) and Daging Masak Paprika  which is a Thai Style fried tender beef is all available for you to try out.

Other local Chinese cuisines were seen during the buffet. It includes their Singapore chili crab, Mantou, Wok-fried Kong Po Prawns, Wok-fried beef in Szechuan Peppercorn Sauce, Fried Bean curd with spicy Tauchu Chicken, Lor Hon vegetables, and their Chinese-style seasonal mixed vegetables and mushrooms.


Desserts are also on the list. They have their homemade Malay Kueh’s. You can try their Seri Muka, Kuah Talam, Kuah Keteyap, Pulay Tia Tai, Kueh Lapis and many more.  Sweetened dessert soups like their Bubur Cha Cha, Bubur Gandum, Bubur Pulut Hitam is also available.

Their Jemput Makan buffet is priced at RM158 nett per person and RM78 nett per child. Aged 6-12 years old are considered child while 6 years old and below will be given a complimentary pass to dine in. They have their early bird promotion which is currently ongoing until 31st March 2021 to get as many as 3 free complimentary vouchers for every 10 pax of reservation.
