Toppen JB Gave Back To The Community At The Topp

Toppen Shopping Centre hosted an Iftar program with some of the 40 underprivileged children from Rumah Perlindungan Fitrah Qaseh and Pusat Jagaan Kasih Setanggi. 

The Iftar event ran smoothly at Level 3, Event Piazza, at Toppen Shopping Center Johor Bahru. With a three-hour-long program commencing at 5pm, Toppen welcomed their special guests from Fitrah Qaseh and Kasih Setanggi. Spreading the festive vibes of Ramadan, the event proceeded with a Batik Painting Workshop for the children.

With a picnic-style set-up, the Iftar session began. Toppen team, members of the media, and local influencers joined in for ‘Buka Puasa’ with the children at The Topp where everyone was provided a sitting mat. Introduced with an array of interesting activities, the guests were entertained with stage performances that instilled a Raya festive ambiance. Topping off the spirit of Ramadan, goodie bags were given out to the children as a surprise from Toppen.

According to Ms. Nicole Tong, Marketing Manager of Toppen Shopping Centre, “In practice of a socially responsible member of our community, our Toppen team created this Iftar at The Topp initiative to contribute back to the community and to reconnect with everyone since the last 2 years have been difficult with the Covid-19 Pandemic."

"Besides, this event also acts as a service of giving back to the children by spreading love through food during this auspicious month of Ramadan.” she also added.

Meanwhile, Ms. Vivi, the Assistant Marketing Manager of Toppen Shopping Center Johor Bahru welcome everyone for their "Iftar at The Topp" where she elaborated the facilities such as the mat and the tables are free of charge. 

Both homes, Fitrah Qaseh and Kasih Setanggi are Non-Governmental Organizations that take in underprivileged children under their care and provide them a safe haven. Taking care of children between 4 to 6 years old, Kasih Setanggi currently has a total of 30 children within its care. 

Fitrah Qaseh was established in 2015, and they are now hosting over 90 children ranging from newborns up to teens aged 18. Some of them were homeless, some from orphanages while the rest originate from families suffering from poverty.

All in all, Toppen Shopping Centre was pleased to be able to host the children of Fitrah Qaseh and Kasih Setanggi, in hopes of making a memorable Iftar experience for them, spreading their love and appreciation as an aspiration to organize more of these events in the near future.
