Smiles, Laughter, and Learning: Handal Indah Welcomes Students for an Exciting Public Transport Educational Trip
It was a day full of discovery and delight as Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd., the operator of the iconic Causeway Link buses, hosted an unforgettable educational trip for the students and parents of Kids Bonding, a parents and children community in Johor Bharu, at its premises in Johor Bahru.
This event was held under the Bringing Smile to Life campaign, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on community engagement and public transport awareness by Causeway Link.
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as eager young learners and their supportive parents took part in an engaging session about Malaysia’s public transportation system. The activity not only provided important knowledge about safety and bus etiquette but also sparked curiosity and wonder, especially when the students got their first-ever ride on an electric bus.
"It was such a joy to see their faces light up," said Mr Jeffrey, the Lead Organizing Representative from Kids Bonding Community. “The kids were so curious about how electric buses work, and the parents were equally impressed. This is the kind of impactful engagement we love being part of.”, add by Mr. Jeffrey.
The students explored topics such as public transport basics, on-board safety signs, and general do’s and don'ts when using buses. But the true highlight was the live experience boarding a sleek electric bus and going on a scenic ride to Adda Heights. Many of the children and parents shared that it was their very first time on an electric bus, and their excitement was absolutely contagious!
Along the way, the team pointed out road safety features such as traffic lights, bus stops, and key public transport facilities, helping the kids connect classroom lessons to real-world experiences. Parents were thankful for the hands-on approach, as it gave their children a better appreciation of the role public transportation plays in everyday life.
To make the experience even more meaningful, all participating students were invited to register in the myBAS KadKonsesi, which allows them to enjoy unlimited free rides on all myBAS Johor Bahru services. This initiative is part of the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, further supporting the government’s goal to encourage greater use of public transport among students.
