EduCity Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd and DOE Training & Consultancy announced the establishment of "Safe Centro" as an interactive Safety education center in Iskandar Puteri.

YB Datuk Haji Awang Bin Hashim, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Chairman of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health said in his opening speech, each employer and employee in the school needs to play a role in applying the values ​​of safe and healthy work culture practices.

We hope that the goal of creating a conducive school environment for the learning and teaching process at school will be realized and the spirit of a Safe and Healthy Work Culture can be fostered among teachers and students, he also added.

DOE Managing Director, Datin Fauzirah Zainum added, "Our hopes are high for “Safe Centro”, which has the vision to become the First Safe Risk Education Center in Malaysia and in Southeast Asia. Choosing Iskandar Puteri, Johor as the central location, the program offered four main cores: transport safety, self-awareness, basic safety knowledge, and building safety.

Safe Centro is established with the aim of exposing students to the risks they face every day with demonstrations in a safe environment, the program offered will teach people how to deal with any risk through simulated learning. The methodology used in this center is to ensure that students understand the risk factors and use the skills learned to deal with the risk.

The program that will be offered by "safe Centro" is fully supported by the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (MNKKP) in collaboration with the Department of Safety and Health and supports the aspirations and vision of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (KKP) to support activities under Strategy Core 3 under OSHMP25, reduce the accident rate in line with the goals of OSHMP25, create awareness and the importance of research in the KKP and become a local center for the KKP to interact with the community, especially the students.

The exhibitors during this event were Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, Lotte Chemical Titan, Kumpool, Maxis, Jass Malaysia, Ria Academy & Consultancy, District Health Office, Sherwood Protected Apparel, Att Tanjung Bin Sdn Bhd, Maybank@Campus and KKP.

There are about 139 students and teachers from different schools such as SMK Damansara Aliff, SMK Sri Rahmat, and Netherlands Maritime University College (Kotaraya) that attend the workshops called “OSH in school”. It is a program initiated by the DOE and the Department of Occupation Safety and Health Malaysia (KKP).

Today's program is also highlighted by the announcement of a collaborative relationship between EduCity Iskandar and RIA Academy & Consultancy which will offer more training programs that support the aspirations of EduCity and its subsidiary, EduCity Academy to become a one-stop talent lifecycle solution and the development of an ecosystem that will offer special courses for students and the working community.

This ceremony was witnessed by YB Datuk Haji Awang Bin Hashim, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Chairman of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, and represented by prof. Dr. Sakina Sofia Baharom, EduCity Operations Director Iskandar and Datin Fauzirah Zainum, DOE Managing Director.
