Lovely Dining Experience At Les Bouchons Malaysia

Are you looking for a new food place in Johor? If yes, you might want to consider checking out the new dishes that are being showcased at Les Bouchons Puteri Harbour in Johor, Malaysia.

We were given the chance to explore this with my family and we were surprised by how beautiful the ambiance is. It has a wide parking area and the place is just overlooking the main road around Puteri Harbour.

Les Bouchons has been a well-known name in Singapore since 2002 for classic and value-for-money Steak Frites & French cuisine. Guests can look forward to dining over a delicious meal of grilled quality meats, seafood, and classic French dishes amidst a relaxed and casual ambiance that is a resemblance to an authentic Parisian bistro in France.

Les Bouchons Malaysia opens its door in Malaysia in 2020 during the pandemic.

We tried some of their Starters, Main Dishes, Desserts as well as beverages. We also had the chance to have an interview with Chef Mickaël Cornac, the Executive Chef of Les Bouchons and we were so humbled by how he explained to us his dishes.

Their Starters

We tried their SMOKED TROUT WITH TOAST AND SOUR CREAM. This set comes with a Fresh Trout from Norway, cured & smoked in Malaysia and served with homemade Sour Cream with Chive and Shallots.

Be amazed at their BURGUNDY ESCARGOT WITH GARLIC BUTTER which comes with 6 pcs of Burgundy Snails served with homemade Garlic Butter with fresh Parsley and Garlic and served with warm Bread. This is indeed very tasty to try.

I like their PAN-SEARED FOIE GRAS (120G) WITH CARAMELIZED APPLE AND ONION CHUTNEY. This comes with 2 pieces of 60g Foie Gras served with Mixed Greens with Cherry Tomatoes, Onion Chutney, 4 slices of bread, and a pinch of Fleur de Sel (flower of salt).

Their Main Dishes

We tried their POULET AUX 40 GOUSSE D’AIL (TRADITIONAL 40 GARLIC ROASTED CHICKEN). It is a comfort dish in France that is prepared in a traditional way. This set comes with Half Chicken that is cage-free and hormone-free, roasted with Garlic (approx. 250g per portion), Onion, Rosemary, Thyme, Olive oil, and Butter. Great to enjoy by dipping bread with the sauce.

One can also enjoy their CATCH OF THE DAY (SEASONAL FISH). This time around, the set comes with a grilled local Seabass (approx. 800g to 1kg) dressed with Garlic and Thyme Butter sauce.

This set was served with Free-Flow Homemade Fries and 2 bowls of Mesclun Salad for 2 guests.

Get excited with their ROYAL MEAT PLATTER. It is served with 2 pcs of lamb chop, 2 pcs of Lamb Usage, Half Roasted Chicken, and 1 pcs of Extra Tender Angus Beef Filet.

This dish is actually an Australian Lamb Chops, Lamb Merguez, Australian Beef Tenderloin with approx. 200g, and Half-roasted Chicken. This is indeed a satisfying platter that is simply perfect for sharing and is Served with Free-Flow Homemade Fries and 2 bowls of Mesclun Salad for 2 guests.

We also tried their WAGYU BEEF SIRLOIN MBS 6/7. It is an A4 Wagyu Beef Sirloin (200gm) from Australia with a marbling score of 6/7. Lightly seasoned with Olive oil, Salt, and Pepper to allow the beef’s natural flavors to shine.

Let's Talk About Their Desserts

We tried their HOMEMADE DOUBLE CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE WITH VANILLA ICE CREAM. It is made with Valrhona chocolate (Milk and Dark Chocolate).

Their CRÈME BRÛLÉE MAISON is really soft & creamy. This set contains Vanilla and is torched to perfection with a crispy layer of Brown Sugar. 

You can also enjoy their CRÈME CARAMEL MAISON. In the Philippines, we call this Leche Flan. Their set comes with a pudding texture and it contains Vanilla and homemade Caramel Sauce.

Their Wines and Mocktails

Les Bouchons Puteri Harbour in Malaysia also offers 99% of wines coming from France. We tried LOUIS PÈRE ET FILS, LOUIS ALIX CHARDONNAY, VIN DE PAYS / PAYS D'OC, and this set comes with a fruity and buttery with citrus notes taste.

Their DOMAINE DE BOISSAN, CÔTES-DU-RHÔNE-VILLAGES 'SABLET' ROUGE was also phenomenal. It is Earthy with black and red fruit notes, fine tannins, and a medium finish.

You can also try their Shirley Temple which is topped with lemon skin and I think is suitable to take after having a great meal with your family or friends inside this French Bistro and steakhouse in Puteri Harbour. 

Les Bouchons is indeed a good place to unwind and enjoy an authentic French Cuisine.
