This detail has been source out from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry Malaysia released on March 25, 2022. It was titled as FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) REOPENING OF LAND BORDERS (VACCINATED TRAVEL) BETWEEN MALAYSIA AND SINGAPORE.

• Eligible travellers will not be subjected to any Pre-Departure Test (PDT) and On-Arrival Test (OAT) requirements;
• Children aged 12 years and below will qualify for quarantine free travel under the Vaccinated Travel into Malaysia without the need to show proof of vaccination. The age of the child will be based on the calendar year;
• Travellers entering Malaysia are required to download, register, and activate the MySejahtera application prior to entering; and
• Travellers are encouraged to use facilities such as EZ-Link Touch ‘n Go Motoring Card for a swift movement across the border.

After the release of the Joint Press Statement today March 24, 2022, of YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob,  Prime Minister of Malaysia, and His Excellency Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Republic of Singapore on the reopening of the border by April 1, 2020.

It stated that:

“The Prime Ministers recognize the good progress that both countries have made in vaccinating their respective populations and managing the COVID-19 pandemic, and note the progress made in resuming cross border travel through the Vaccinated Travel Lanes (Air) and (Land).”

“As Singapore and Malaysia transition to living with COVID-19, both Prime Ministers have agreed that it is timely to further reopen the land border. From 1 April 2022, for travel across the land border between Singapore and Malaysia, both countries will allow fully vaccinated travellers to enter without the need to undergo quarantine or testing, including pre-departure and on-arrival tests. This will apply to all categories of travellers and modes of transport via the land border.”

“Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said “As Malaysia reopens our borders to international travellers starting 1 April 2022, we will achieve another significant milestone in facilitating cross border travel with our immediate neighbour, Singapore. Today’s announcement reflects the long-standing relations and multifaceted cooperation, as well as strong people-to-people ties between the two countries. This will certainly contribute to the recovery efforts with positive impacts on the economies and livelihood of the peoples of both countries”.

“Singapore and Malaysia enjoy deep, warm, and multi-faceted relations, as well as strong people-to-people ties. Today’s announcement is a significant milestone in our transition towards living with COVID-19. It reflects the strong collaboration both sides have enjoyed throughout the pandemic and will help both countries emerge stronger from this crisis,” H.E Lee Hsien Loong said.”

According to Chef Tahir, the Executive Chef of the hotel, they will be serving more than 150 dishes to excite the appetite of their diners. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Fahmi, the F&B Manager of the hotel said that there will be live cooking stations around the area to assist diners with their needs. Barbecue stations will be among the highlights to ensure the freshness of their dishes, he also added.

On the other hand, early-bird promotion is also available before 3^rd April 2022, and Buy 5 free 1 is also part of their promotion.

Their Selera Ramadan will be showcasing 600 dishes that cover local and international dishes to excite the entire family. According to Mr. Hezrin Ali, Head of Marketing Communications of Renaissance JB Hotel, live cooking stations will be serving fresh dishes for everyone.

Some of their popular dishes were already fixed to be served every day and some menus will be served on an alternate basis so diners can try different delicacies on each visit.

They also have their Dim Sum steamed selections on a rotation basis. They have their sew mai, steamed bean curd roll, crab stickball siew mai, chicken mushroom siew mai, lo mau kai, steamed mini bun of yam, red bean paste, kaya, and black sesame.

As usual, their crowd's favorite seafood on ice section offers a mouth-watering morsel like scallops, flowers crabs, New Zealand blue mussels as well as green lip mussels.

They also have live wok specialty which will be on a daily rotation showcasing their oyster omelette, Penang fried kway teow, black pepper lor she fun, pad Thai seafood, wok- fried sweet clams, wok-fried carrot cake, wok- fried tender beef hor fun and tom yam seafood bee hoon.

Fresh selection of seafood like stingray, squid, seasonal sustainable local fish, freshwater prawns with different condiments such as asam chili sauce, Thai lime chili sauce, garlic ginger chili, Thai sweet-sour chili, dried Chili powder, 8 spices seasoning and garlic chili oil.
