MyBas in Johor Bahru To Be A New Public Transport in The City With 19 Routes

The Federal Government through the efforts of the minister of transport has allocated RM150 million to implement the MyBas stage bus service under the Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) programme.

According to Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong,  a total of 19 routes will be covered and expected to serve 6.4 million passengers a year. MyBas is expected to be in operation in March 2022 which will be covering five corridors in Johor.

These corridors include Kota Tinggi, Masai, Kulai, Gelang Patah, and Pontian. An expected 128 buses will be used. It will consist of diesel and electric vehicles.

Johor Caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad has also attended the said event.

“For the first time, we are introducing electric vehicles (EV) to Johor Bahru, and we have eight EV buses to cater to the city centre,” he told reporters after the launch of the Johor Bahru SBST programme.
