The Amazing Landscape of Forest City In Johor

If you are looking for a short gateway outside the city of Johor Bahru, you might wanna consider having a trip to Forest City along the slopes of the Gelang Patah, Johor.

Forest City is said to be a “smart and green futuristic city that combines environment, technology, and cutting-edge technology to create an ideal, idyllic, and technology-driven living and working space ecosystem".

This beautiful place is also known as the Shenzhen of Southeast Asia. Upon our visit during this Chinese New Year break, we noticed that there is a lot of completed building around the area compared to when we first visited in 2018.

Such a nice mega-project that showcases an amazing landscape for the community to hang out and refresh while relaxing on a man-made beach facing the island of Singapore.

If you plan to use their facilities please be reminded that there is a fee to use their pools and other water activities except for those quadbikes (ATV), banana rides, etc around the beachfront of Forest City.

Here is the important thing to know when visiting this place:

  • Need to pay for the ticket to use the pool. Child below 3 years old is free.
  • Swimming attire is required when using the pool. Parents are required to keep an eye on their children when playing around the pools.
  • It is advisable to visit this place in the morning to secure a spot.
  • Changing room is available.
  • Bring a mat in case the place is full
  • Bring food and lots and lots of drinks so you will not be dehydrated.

This place is also ideal for a family picnic if you don’t want to use their pool. It's nice to set your picnic at their grassy area but bear in mind that it may be very hot around 11 AM to 3 PM.

If you are looking for instagrammable spots, you will be amazed at all their landscapes facing the beachside.  You can also check out their popular Stairway To Heaven.

To get here, you will need to drive for about 30-40 minutes from Johor Bahru with a speed of 80-100 kilometers per hour depending on traffic conditions. To avoid the jam, you can use the Express Way.

You can use any navigation app available online to guide you on the way to get here.
