Ramadan Iftar Ala Bazar 2026 at New York Hotel Johor Bahru – A Festive Feast Worth Exploring
In conjunction with the upcoming Ramadan season, New York
Hotel Johor Bahru once again brings back its much-anticipated Ramadan buffet,
themed “Ramadan Iftar Ala Bazar 2026.”
Inspired by the vibrant atmosphere of local Ramadan bazaars, this year’s concept gathers a wide variety of Malaysian favourites under one roof making it a convenient and flavourful destination for buka puasa gatherings.
Held at Palm Garden Café, Level G, the buffet runs from 19
February to 19 March 2026, offering diners an immersive bazar-style dining
experience within a comfortable hotel setting.
The buffet truly highlights the richness of Malaysian
cuisine. From traditional kampung-style dishes to popular street food delights,
the spread is thoughtfully curated to reflect the diversity of local flavours.
Among the standout highlights is the Sup Berempah Gearbox, a
rich and aromatic dish that delivers bold flavours in every spoonful. The chef
also recommends their kambing speciality, prepared to tender perfection — a
must-try for lamb lovers.
The Ala Bazar section brings the lively street food concept indoors, featuring favourites such as:
- Durian Goreng
- Satay
- Penang Laksa
- Ikan Bakar
- Freshly prepared Murtabak
- Noodle and Chicken Rice stations
Live cooking stalls add to the excitement, where diners can
watch selected dishes being prepared on the spot, ensuring freshness and
authenticity in every serving.
For those who enjoy hearty local staples, the buffet also includes Nasi Lemak and a dedicated Nasi Biryani station, complete with papadum and flavourful side dishes. These sections truly capture the essence of a traditional Malaysian Ramadan feast.
Seafood and fried selections such as prawns, sotong, and
chicken are also available, alongside crowd-pleasing stations like Yong Tau Fu
and assorted dim sum, including the popular lotus leaf sticky rice — which
quickly became a favourite during the preview session.
No Ramadan buffet is complete without desserts, and this spread does not disappoint. The dessert section showcases a heartwarming display of traditional Malay kuih, beautifully arranged and reminiscent of festive kampung celebrations.
One special highlight this year is Pisang Hijau, a
traditional Indonesian dessert originating from Makassar, South Sulawesi. Made
from banana wrapped in green rice flour paste and freshly prepared on the spot,
it offers a unique and delightful sweet treat for diners to enjoy.
There is also a DIY Ice Kacang station, complete with
assorted condiments — a section that is especially popular among families with
children. Additionally, freshly made churros and a fruit rojak station add even
more variety to the sweet selections.
To enhance the overall dining ambiance, the buffet is accompanied by live singing performances, creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the evening.
