BAS.MY Melaka Marks First Anniversary With Art Competition In Melaka
BAS.MY Melaka celebrates its first year as a leading public transportation provider in the state. With 18 operational routes and a fleet of 55 buses, the service has significantly advanced local mobility and environmental sustainability.
In conjunction with this milestone, BAS.MY Melaka introduces its latest initiative: the SISWA Card, offering free bus rides to students actively enrolled in selected universities across Malaysia.
The anniversary celebration, hosted by Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (HISB)—the official Network Operator (NO) of BAS.MY Melaka—also marked the official launch of the SISWA Card. This program is an extension of the existing Kad Konsesi, aimed at providing seamless and cost-free travel for targeted student groups throughout the country.
To add
a creative flair to the event, an art competition invited Melaka locals to
share their artistic take on the evolving public transport system. Many of the
entries proudly featured the distinctive pink buses that have become a symbol
of the BAS.MY Melaka brand.
Attendees also benefited from free health screenings, offered in collaboration with Klinik Keluarga One Medic (Cawangan Gangsa), available to both invited guests and members of the public.
Previously
operating under the name SBST Melaka with white-colored buses, the service
underwent a rebranding and was officially relaunched as BAS.MY Melaka in
October 2024 by Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook and Melaka Chief
Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh.
Today, BAS.MY Melaka stands as the primary public transport provider for both urban and rural communities. Among its flagship routes is M100, which conveniently connects riders to Melaka’s famous UNESCO World Heritage sites, benefiting locals and tourists alike.
Students
and eligible passengers can register for the Kad Konsesi, including the SISWA
Card, either at the dedicated counter in Melaka Sentral or through the LUGO
App, BAS.MY Melaka’s official travel platform. Registration is free for
Malaysian IC holders, while an optional physical card is available for a
nominal fee of RM10.
In keeping with digital convenience, BAS.MY Melaka supports multiple cashless payment methods, including Visa cards, DuitNow, and ManjaPay, making travel simpler and more accessible.
As a
subsidiary of HI Mobility Berhad, Handal Indah Sdn Bhd continues its mission to
modernize and enhance public transportation in the region.
