MOT Launch myBAS50 and First Electric Bus In Johor Bahru

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Few Sook has launched the myBAS50 program, which offers unlimited rides for 30 days on all myBAS Johor Bahru routes for RM50, effective from 1 April 2023.
The Minister said the initiative to introduce the unlimited monthly renewal travel pass myBAS50 was first introduced in the Klang Valley which is valid on trains and buses operated by Prasarana.

The myBAS50 program is open to all Malaysians with valid MyKAD. Registration is required through the counter and online via the LUGO APP.  

The minister has also mentioned that thru myBAS50, the travel expenses by regular commuters can save up to 80% which will benefit the community to lessen their cost on their traveling expenses.


In addition to the introduction of myBAS50, the MOT has also launched the first Electric Vehicle (EV) buses to be used as public transportation in Johor. Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, the Network Operator of myBAS Johor Bahru, will operate eight units of EV buses in phases throughout the year.
 
The EV buses will be deployed on myBAS Johor Bahru F100 and T13 routes, effective April 1, 2023.

This initiative is part of the Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) program, which aims to provide reliable connectivity and integrated bus services in Johor, especially to the 5 corridors in Johor where myBAS such as Pontina, Gelang Patah, Pasir Gudang, Masai, and Kota Tinggi. 

The Launching was held at the Larkin Sentral Bus terminal on March 28, 2023.
